Gilles Labourdette cruises to victory at the Scandinavian Golf Club as Yulia Golubeva continues to impress in the Ladies Series.
or its third leg, the World Amateur Tour visited Denmark and one of its most beautiful golf courses, The Scandinavian, located only a few miles away from Copenhagen city center.
With its 36 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the players faced one of the most challenging courses of the year with wind and wet conditions on the last day.
Gilles Labourdette from Paris International Club took his chance from the first holes and played a great first round to take the lead just a few shots ahead of Bernard Jossein and Jean-François Jeanne. During the second day, all the crowd thought that it was going to be an easy win for Labourdette but suddenly the players behind started to play a better golf, putting a lot of pressure on the leader until that last hole.
But with a lot of serenity, Gilles Labourdette finally signed a par on the final hole to score 3 points stableford and secure a maiden victory on the Tour.
At the second place we find 5 players including Christophe Guedon who won an additional title in the 2ndSeries, and Franck Henouda winning the Seniors Series.
In the Ladies Series, Yulia Golubeva cruised to a third victory in a row leaving no hope to her contenders. Anne-Catherine Robin, who spent a few months away from golf due to a knee injury, played a consistent game but not enough to hope for a win.
After this event Italian Marco Saviozzi remains the leader of the World Amateur Tour ranking followed by Christophe Guedon, Sylvain Berger Duquene and Franck Henouda.
In the Ladies series, Yulia Golubeva keeps the lead of the Race to La Reserva followed by Irina Nesterova and Laetitia Chang respectively at the second and third place.
Everyone is now waiting for the next event to take place at one of the most famous golf clubs in Scotland, home of The Open Championship, The Turnberry Golf Club.
