Sylvain Berger Duquene wins second title and becomes 2019 World Amateur Tour Champion as Karina Budantseva cruises to first victory at La Reserva Sotogrande.

For the first time, Andalucia was chosen to welcome the final tournament of the year to be played at one of the most beautiful golf courses in Europe, La Reserva Sotogrande. Despite some heavy rain, the golf course was in perfect condition and the greens looked as fast as a major championship.

Once again this year nobody would be able to tell the name of the future winner of both Tournament and Overall title. Only 4 players teeing off this week had a chance to win. Amongst them, the defending champion Christophe Guedon, the 2016 Champion Yann Robin and the two rookies Sylvain Berger Duquene and Franck Henouda.

After a heavy rain during the night, the players were ready to tee off a full round on Friday. Yann Robin quickly took the lead with a very good score of 32 points Stableford showing that he was going to be the man to catch on the week-end. Sylvain Berger Duquene and Christophe Guedon both scored 30 points and gave themselves a chance to win the last day.

For the second and last round of the tournament, everyone was ready for the final count down. It was going to be a crazy day and until the last hole nobody could tell who the 2019 champion was going to be. Robin turned 3 points ahead after 9 over Berger Duquene but thanks to a very good back nine Berger Duquene came to finish with a par on the 18th to win the title and the 2019 World Amateur Tour Champion.

In the Senior Series Jerry Sarvadi won the title with 58 points total followed by Franck Henouda who won the 2ndSeries Title becoming the 2019 Seniors Champion.

In the Ladies Series, Karina Budantseva took advantage of a very good knowledge of the course and overcame Santi Villena and good friend 2019 Champion Irina Nesterova.

After only two years playing golf, Karina Budantseva won her first trophy on the World Amateur Tour.

The 2019 Race to La Reserva is now over but all players have in mind the 2020 season which will start in Dubai from March 23rdto 25th.

A beautiful schedule will be proposed with stops in Mallorca, Sweden, Scotland, Andalucia and Morocco.
