Morocco’s El Mansouri wins on home soil as Nesterova continues to surprise

ome of the famous Hassan II Trophy, The Royal Golf Dar es Salam hosted the Morocco Heritage Championship for the first time and offered the players the greatest golf test ever with perfect conditions and very fast greens.

Under a beautiful sun Hassan El Mansouri started the first round with an excellent score of 35 points stableford which gave him a two shot lead over Bernard Jossein.

The next day, the two players would offer one of the greatest duels ever in the history of the World Amateur Tour. After scoring 16 points each on the front nine, Hassan started the back nine with three very bad holes and opened the door to his opponent.

The two players got to the 18th tee with the exact same score and only one hole to play. Finally, El Mansouri scored a wonderful par on that last hole to overcome Jossein.

Gregory Deglise-Favre finished 3rd and won the 1st Series trophy as Vincent Danjoux seized the 2nd Series trophy.

In the Ladies Series, Irina Nesterova won the trophy by playing a very consistent two rounds to overcome Yulia Golubeva, and Anne-Catherine Robin, respectively in 2nd & 3rd position.

The suspense is on as Golubeva has a comfortable advance but Irina still has a chance to overdrive her on the final stop in La Reserva de Sotogrande.

As Christophe Guedon didn’t score well this week, the ranking remains more than open before the last tournament to take place next month.

The top seven players still have a chance to win the World Amateur Tour Champion’s Title.

The Race to La Reserva continues and all players will meet at La Reserva de Sotogrande from November 21st to 24th.

On this occasion we will celebrate the World Amateur Tour 5th Anniversary and present some special trophies and prizes.
